01 — How it works

Paste a link. Trade it. Graduate it.

Gumlink is a live market for internet attention. Here's the whole loop, start to finish — what each action does, how the score works, and how a link goes from a paste to a graduation badge.

  1. 01

    Drop a link

Connect a Solana wallet with Privy, paste any URL, give it a ticker tag like $CANS, and launch it into the live market. Every drop gets a permanent, unique gum address.

    • Browsing the feed and drop pages is open to everyone. Launching a link, gumming, commenting, following and trading all require a connected wallet — sign in with Privy and your Solana address becomes your identity across the platform.
    • Your ticker tag ($CANS, $RICK, $WHO) is unique and shows on every card. But the real identity of a drop is its gum address — a 44-character base58 string that always ends in "gum", generated automatically and guaranteed unique.
    • The moment you drop, your link enters the live feed and starts competing for attention against every other active link, and a live event fires in the homepage ticker.
    • Right after launch you're offered an optional buy-in modal — back your own drop with any amount of SOL to seed its bonding curve.
    • Each drop gets a dedicated, permanent page at /l/<gum-address> where all its stats, activity, buys, comments and trades live forever.
  2. 02

    Gum what you love

Gumming is one-tap appreciation. Recent, unique gums carry the most weight — so fresh attention matters more than raw volume.

    • A "gum" is a single tap of appreciation — think of it as a like that actually moves the needle. You need a connected wallet to gum.
    • Each gum is worth 10 points toward the link's Gum Score.
    • Only unique gums count. Spam-clicking gum a hundred times won't help — the system deduplicates by visitor.
    • Because momentum weights recent activity heavily, a gum from someone who just arrived matters more than one from an hour ago.
  3. 03

    Trade the curve

Every drop launches with its own bonding curve. Buy shares with SOL, the price rises as supply grows, and you can sell back at any time.

    • Each link gets a constant-product curve seeded with 30 virtual SOL against 1,000,000,000 virtual shares — so the first buyers get the cheapest price.
    • Buying sends SOL to the treasury, gets verified on-chain, then mints you shares at the live curve price. Your position and cost basis are tracked per link, per wallet.
    • Selling burns your shares back into the curve and pays SOL out to your wallet from the treasury. You sign a message to prove wallet ownership before any payout is sent.
    • A 1% fee is taken on both buys and sells. Every trade is logged with its status and Solana signature, viewable on Solscan.
    • Your holdings, unrealized P&L and full trade history live on the Deposit page linked from your profile.

    Climb the rankings

Links rise on momentum, not total clicks. Gums, clicks, comments and shares all feed a rolling score that decays over time.

    • The Gum Score is the sum of all engagement: gums (×10), unique clicks (×2), shares (×4), and comments (×5).
    • Momentum is what actually determines ranking. It's calculated as: recent engagement × 4 + total score ÷ (age in hours + 2).
    • This means a link dropped 20 minutes ago with fresh activity can outrank a link that's been quietly accumulating clicks for two days.
    • As a link ages, its momentum naturally decays unless it keeps earning fresh engagement — so the feed stays dynamic and new links always have a shot.
    • The four public feeds — Trending (highest momentum), New (most recent), Graduating (progress toward graduation), and Graduated (past graduation) — let you slice the market however you want. Sign in and a fifth "Following" feed appears, showing drops only from creators you follow with infinite scroll.
    • The King of the Hill spotlight on the homepage shows the single highest-momentum link in the market right now.
  5. 05

    Share & deep-link

Every drop has a permanent gum address and a short deep-link you can share anywhere — on social, in a QR, or straight to a friend.

    • Each drop's deep link lives at gumlink.fun/a/<gum-address>. It always resolves to the right drop page, even if the ticker tag is hard to remember.
    • On any drop page you can copy the deep link, open it in a new tab, or trigger native device sharing with one tap.
    • Every drop has a downloadable QR code pointing at its deep link — scan to open instantly on mobile.
    • Sharing a deep link also counts toward the link's share metric, which feeds its Gum Score.
  6. 06

    Follow creators

Every wallet is also a creator profile. Follow the ones you like and get a personalized feed of their drops.

    • Each wallet has a public profile at /u/<address> showing their launched links, total gums, follower count, and quick links to their latest and graduated drops.
    • Follow a creator from their profile with one tap — the Follow button disables on your own profile so you can't follow yourself.
    • Profiles include paginated Followers and Following panels so you can browse who's connected to a wallet.
    • Once you follow creators, the homepage "Following" tab surfaces their drops, ranked by momentum, with infinite scroll so you never have to refresh.
  7. 07

    Graduate

The curve decides graduation. Once a drop's bonding curve holds 50 SOL of real liquidity, it graduates — permanently.

    • A link graduates the moment its curve reaches 50 SOL of real buy-in liquidity. That milestone is permanent and earns the 🎓 badge.
    • The graduation meter on each card (0–100%) tracks progress toward 1000 Gum Score as a quick visibility signal, but actual graduation is driven purely by SOL raised on the curve.
    • Graduated links keep their page, curve, stats and history forever — trading doesn't stop after graduation.
    • The Graduated feed ranks all graduated drops by total Gum Score, so the most culturally important links float to the top.
