How it works

When you press Discover a link, we pull a link from the live pool and show you a preview — title, description, thumbnail and momentum stats. Click VISIT LINK to open it in a new tab; that records a real visit and flips the modal to the react phase: "Was it worth the click?"

You pick one of three:

• Worth it (mint) — a positive signal.
• Interesting (butter) — mildly positive, counted at half weight.
• Skip — a negative signal.

Each reaction is saved on the discovery row that was created when you were served the link. You can only react once per discovery; a second attempt is ignored.

Reactions are also the gate for earning Spotlight Credits — but only for signed-in users who actually visited. We count unique destinations you've genuinely visited and reacted to. Every 5 unique discoveries earns a credit batch, flagged on the row and logged to your ledger. If you've already earned all your batches, nothing is credited and the modal tells you how many more you need.

Finally, reactions feed the momentum score (30% weight on positive reaction rate), while a high skip rate penalises it. So crowd reactions shape how high a link ranks in Explore and the Leaderboard — independent of how much the creator paid into the pool.
